Fire Breaks Out at FTC Building in Karachi

A fire ripped through the Finance and Trade Center (FTC) building in Karachi, right by Baloch Colony Bridge on Shahrah-e-Faisal. It hit parts of the place and got emergency crews scrambling.

Reports say it kicked off on the first floor of the tall commercial spot, where there’s a gym and some rooms next door. Thick smoke poured out, messing up the lower and middle floors bad.

Cops and rescuers hustled to get people out from the bottom levels, even though some were still up top. Teams made sure everyone got clear safely.

Firefighters rolled out a bunch of trucks and a snorkel rig. They got the flames tamed quick and stopped it from climbing the over-ten-story building.

Smoke hung thick even after the fire was mostly out, giving crews fits. They started venting it with special gear and cracking windows, especially on the first and second floors.

Officials say clearing the smoke and checking everything safe will take a bit longer before they call the building good. No one’s hurt so far.

They don’t know what started it yet— that’ll come after a full probe once things cool down.
