Iran Targets US AWACS and Military Sites in Tel Aviv, UAE in Escalating Retaliatory Strikes

01 April, 2026 19:30

Iran’s Army just kicked off another round of payback airstrikes, hammering major US and Israeli military gear like high-tech spy planes and key bases all over the region.

An official statement says Iranian troops used drones to hit US Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) planes and tanker jets parked at Ben Gurion Airport. They also went after radar and electronic warfare setups in the United Arab Emirates.

The military bragged about using their long-range Arash-2 drones that can zip 2,000 kilometers, showing off a big jump in how far they can strike.

“Since dawn today,” the statement said, Iranian Armed Forces have “targeted with drone strikes the US AWACS and refueling aircraft stationed at Ben Gurion Airport, as well as radar sites for detecting and tracking missiles and combat drones, and electronic warfare sites used to counter combat drones in the UAE.”

Iran calls these hits revenge for nonstop US and Israeli air raids that they say have slammed civilian spots and homes.

They warned enemies they’ll pay big time, and Iran’s forces won’t stop till the attackers get what’s coming.

Since things heated up on February 28, Iran’s been pounding US bases and Israeli-tied military stuff in West Asia with drones and missiles nonstop. Reports and satellite pics show real damage at a bunch of those spots.

Standout was the hit on a US Air Force E-3 Sentry AWACS plane in a March 27 strike at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia—hurt several troops and trashed refueling tankers too.

Analysts say these “flying radar” planes are huge for battle control and spying, and losing them throws a wrench in things.

Besides AWACS, Iran’s nailed radars, missile shields like THAAD, and drones in places like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait.

This latest action shows the region’s boiling over, with both sides throwing heavier, smarter firepower.
