Security forces killed 13 militants in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to security sources, the first operation was carried out in the Bara area of Khyber District after reports of militant presence. During the operation, troops engaged the suspects in an intense exchange of fire, resulting in the killing of 10 militants.

In a separate operation in Bannu District, security forces conducted another intelligence-based raid. During the firefight, three more militants were killed.

Officials stated that sanitization operations are ongoing in both areas to ensure no remaining militants are present. The operations are part of Pakistan’s broader counter-terrorism campaign aimed at eliminating militant threats from the region.

Security authorities reiterated their commitment to continuing operations under the national strategy “Azm-e-Istehkam,” which focuses on strengthening internal security and targeting militancy across the country.

They emphasized that security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their efforts to ensure peace and stability, particularly in sensitive areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
