OGRA Orders Nationwide Crackdown on Illegal LPG Price Hikes in Pakistan
Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) declared Wednesday a nationwide push to curb illegal hikes in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices.
OGRA’s statement underscored that district governments bear the duty to implement its fixed retail rates. Agency teams are raiding LPG sites, and local officials face orders to stick to approved figures.
“The provision of LPG to consumers at government rates must be ensured at all costs,” the statement read.
A spokesperson said the anti-profiteering effort will ramp up, with court action for price breakers.
Black-market jumps have hit hard in spots like Panjgur, where LPG touched Rs 400 per kg. OGRA’s April 2026 update added Rs 78.28 per kg, landing at Rs 304.12 per kg.
An 11.8 kg home cylinder jumped Rs 923.71 to Rs 3,588.59. March saw a small cut, dropping it to Rs 2,664.88.
