Pakistan Security Forces Eliminate 8 Militants Near Afghan Border

North Waziristan, Pakistan – April 1, 2026: Security forces carried out a successful operation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border after detecting the movement of a group of militants in the North Waziristan District.

According to ISPR troops engaged the group in a targeted operation. As a result of the exchange, eight militants were killed, and a cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the site.

Border Security Concerns Highlighted

The operation has once again raised concerns about border management on the Afghan side. Pakistani authorities have repeatedly stressed the importance of preventing militant groups from using cross-border areas for activities that threaten regional stability.

Officials urged the Afghan authorities to ensure that their territory is not used for attacks inside Pakistan and to take effective measures against such elements.

Ongoing Counter-Terrorism Efforts

Security forces have launched a sanitization operation in the area to clear any remaining threats. The operation is part of Pakistan’s broader counter-terrorism campaign under “Azm-e-Istehkam”, aimed at eliminating militancy and ensuring long-term peace.

Authorities reaffirmed that security forces remain fully committed to protecting the country’s borders and maintaining internal security.
