Meta launches Instagram Plus paid subscription: What to expect

Meta has announced a paid subscription for Instagram called Instagram Plus, currently available in select countries. This subscription gives users access to special features to enhance their Instagram experience.

With Instagram Plus, subscribers can view someone’s Story, photo, or video post without the poster knowing. They can also see how many people have rewatched their own Stories.

Other features include:

• Creating unlimited audience lists for Stories, beyond the usual Close Friends list, to control who sees each Story.
• Extending a Story for an extra 24 hours and spotlighting one Story per week to make it more visible.
• Sending an animated “Superlike” on Stories.
• Searching the Story viewer list to quickly check if a specific person has viewed their Story.

Meta hasn’t officially revealed which countries will get Instagram Plus, but it is reportedly being tested in Mexico, Japan, and the Philippines. Prices vary by country:

• Mexico: MX$39 (~$2.20 USD) per month
• Japan: ¥319 (~$2 USD) per month
• Philippines: PHP 65 (~$1.07 USD) per month

This subscription aims to give Instagram users more control and a premium experience on the platform.
